MC Ski Club

A homemade mini brand for my brother and his friend: marking their skiing and (major) hiking adventures.

Ideas 1: The Bear
Though not on the first sticker (the hand-drawn one being held in my hand right below this text box), the bear has quickly become one of the most major motifs of the brand.
To the far right is the original bear.

Core Ideas: Keep the bear motif as a mascot of MC, in all the adventures and versions it will take on. Even changing it from a black bear to a Japanese black bear on the Japanuary version. Reflecting always the heart of MC while adapting to the new adventures.
Goal: Indulge my brother in his silly ideas and make more stickers that reflect his adventurous spirit through my creative drive and talent.

Idea 2: Japanuary
Beyond the bear, I was tasked with making a sticker for his and my father’s (plus some friends’) trip to Japan for skiing.

Insight: Tasked with making a ramen-themed sticker to commemorate the trip, based on a silly idea they had. Wanted to capture the action of skiing and all the fun and plentiful elements of the dish.
Goal: Make a ramen-themed sticker to commemorate the trip, based on a silly idea my brother had. Wanted to capture the action of skiing and all the fun and plentiful elements of ramen as a reflection of where they are visiting.

Solution:A bowl of ramen being knocked over, ingredients scattering as they spell out MC Ski Club Japan 2026.

Juicy Lines

A homemade brand for my father, based off of his favourite (semi self-coined) skiing term: Juicy Lines. Referring to the ski tracks you make in fresh snow.

Yet Another Request
Much like my brother asking me to make him some stickers, my dad has also needed his own personal brand. The heavy burden I carry as the art kid in a family of engineers.

Insight: It’s all about the lines, the two parallel lines made in the snow by skiing through fresh powder. Which could be easily mimicked with the right font choice.
Goal: Create a motif for this brand, encompassing the spirit of the phrase and legible for a t-shirt.

Solution: As seen below: a dual-line font manipulated into skis for the J and extending the L into a mountain.

Japanuart Part 2
Beyond the MC stickers (for my brother and his friend), shirts were made (for everyone).

Goal:
Tweak the original design to be more evenly spaced and have better flow. Solidifying a colour palette, the silhouette, and adding in another descriptive row of text for versatility of use (because I obviously need my own shirt, as the designer).

Solution: Turn the whole thing into a vector, hand-drawn image based on the first design (to easily control the shapes and spacing). Finding an equivalent but thinner font for the second row of text.
